For sleep apnea, once you come in, we do want to get you first diagnosed by getting a sleeping test. We need to see what kind of sleep apnea is it. Is it severe, moderate, or is it slight? Each step, you know, it depends on the treatment that you need.
Sometimes just expanding the airway through orthodontic treatment like Invisalign can help resolve it. Sometimes it’s an appliance that helps move your jaw forward so you’re able to sleep better at night. Or sometimes just a CPAP.
A lot of patients, sometimes they don’t like that CPAP. It’s hard for them to wear. So that appliance, by pushing the jaw forward, helps them not even having to wear that CPAP and being able to get a better night’s rest.
Sleep is everything. If you’re not sleeping, it means that you might be grinding your teeth, you’re putting more pressure on these teeth, and now it can affect the rest of the body. So by providing these appliances, we’re able to reduce any excessive treatment and able to prevent and help these teeth last as long as possible and help you get that good night’s rest that you need.
